Director, PT Delta Marine Indonesia
Rizky Darmawan is Director at PT Delta Marine Indonesia, 70-ha farm with 30-ha developed in Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. Rizky’s father, Soedarman started this family business in Sidoarjo, East Java with black tiger shrimp farming in 2008. Today, it farms milkfish and tilapia. After his graduation, Rizky took over the operations of the farm in Sumbawa from his father who now manages the harvesting and distribution activities of the company, using raw materials supplied by the farm as well as from other farms. He is a second-generation farmer graduated from University of Washington, Seattle, USA with a Bachelor of Science in Aquatic and Fisheries Science with a Minor in Marine Biology in 2013. He attended the Shanghai international Studies University for Chinese Language Courses in 2013-2014. Rizky is very active in the community of second-generation farmers and is the Founder of the Young Shrimp Farmers Association (Petambak Muda Indonesia), and as a young member of the Shrimp Club Indonesia where he currently serves as the Deputy Treasurer as well as Head of the SCI Sumbawa Chapter. Rizky is also involved in PT Indo Nautilus Pharma, a start-up that focuses on converting shrimp wastes such as chitin into chitosan for the health foods, cosmetics and other markets; and is currently developing PasarUdang, an app for for shrimp farming in the marketplace and farm management system.
