Jarin is an aquaculture nutrition and feed specialist based in Thailand. Her expertise encompasses various aspects of production, including farm management, development of feed and nutrient technologies, and providing technical assistance to support fish and shrimp farmers in the region.
Most recently she worked for the USAID funded “Transformational Strategies for Farm Output Risk Mitigation (TRANSFORM) project led by Cargill. The project aims to address emerging infectious diseases and antimicrobial resistance in animal production value chains in Asia and Africa. She was involved in developing research trials in shrimp in India and Vietnam. Prior to that, she worked with Calysta and Ridley Corporation (Thailand) where she provided technical and nutritional sales support on nutrition for novel protein such as marine microbial biomass and single cell protein methanotroph (Methylococcus capsulatus bacteria meal).
Jarin has worked as a nutritionist at Gold Coin Specialties (Thailand) where she was responsible for developing shrimp feed formulations (including functional feeds and zero fishmeal formulation) for feedmills in Thailand. At Cargill Animal Nutrition, she worked as Technology Deployment Manager for shrimp and fish where she was responsible for developing and maintaining shrimp feed formulations and she played a leading role in the overall management of system integrity/feed formulation, and establishment of best management practices (BMPs) for aquaculture. Jarin holds a Master’s degree and PhD in aquaculture nutrition from the University of Stirling, Scotland.
