Jef has more than 25 years of experience in shrimp nutrition and larviculture. He graduated in Environmental Biology at the University of Alicante, Spain, and received training in shrimp nutrition at the University of Ghent, Belgium.
He began his professional career with a research post at the CENAIM-ESPOL research station in Ecuador, after which he has collaborated with several leading international companies in Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America, focusing on the development and formulation of shrimp larval and on-growing feed, and advising aquafeed manufacturers, hatcheries and farmers. As Cargill’s Global Nutrition, Strategic Marketing & Technology Advisor, he continues to focus on shrimp nutrition, health, and innovation.
