Hai Nguyen is Co-Founder and Farm Manager of EcoSeafood Group (ESG) Vietnam. With deep roots in a family that has spent over two decades building one of Vietnam’s largest private shrimp farming operations, Hai is the second generation managing 30 contract shrimp farms around Bac Lieu, South Mekong. He grew up immersed in the opportunities and challenges of the shrimp aquaculture industry. Having witnessed firsthand the impact of disease, environmental strain, and declining profitability, Hai has developed a strong conviction that the sector needs bold, strategic reinvention. Leveraging on his background in finance from RMIT, Australia, Hai is also Investment Advisor for a public investment group.

At E.S.G., the team is reimagining shrimp farming through the integration of data analytics, operational efficiency, and biotechnology. The mission is to deliver scalable, sustainable solutions that reshape the future of aquaculture. Through this work, the aim is to demonstrate how strategic thinking and disciplined investment can drive meaningful transformation in Vietnam’s shrimp industry.
